Client Spotlight: Robert John Vineyards

Robert John Vineyards is a limited production boutique winery located in Napa, California that specializes in the highest quality cabernet sauvignon and sauvignon blanc wines. RJV wines was founded in 2009 by Robert John Nowinski who took an interest to the wine culture when he was on a business trip in Napa Valley. Being an orthopedic surgeon from New Albany Ohio, he felt disconnected from the numerous wine enthusiasts that he was surrounded by on the trip and it bothered him that he was not able to converse with his colleagues about wine. Motivated and inspired by his experience in Napa, RJ decided to make learning about wine his new hobby. Once he had read all the wine books he could, he realized that the only true way to really immerse himself in the wine culture, was to go back to Napa. During his trips back to wine country RJ was able to meet with winemakers and vineyard managers who gave him exclusive insight on how wine is made and information on small producers in Napa Valley. Learning from winemakers, especially those who were doing things a little different from the norm, helped launch RJ’s career in wine.

In 2009 RJ was a man on a mission, he started calling grape growers and winemakers asking if he could purchase fruit and he had had his lawyer look into availability of possible names for his brand. RJ decided to use his own name to trademark his brand and so, RJV Vineyards was born.

RJV Vineyards has been a Left Coast Marketing Client since 2015 and we have had the pleasure of working with them during numerous projects including their recent trade show event where we helped them prepare by designing their tastings notes, expandable backdrop, wine club forms and email marketing campaigns! We also took the bottle shot photos that are used on their website.

RJ looks at wine like art – and calls it, “a personal expression of self interest” and loves how wine is something that brings people together and creates experiences. We absolutely love working with RJV Vineyards and look forward to many more creative projects with them in the future!

WEB WEB WEB

A website is the "look and feel" to any company. It is where your Clients, Prospects and Former Clients come to see what makes you unique in this world. Organization, visuals, and navigation are among the many aspects of a website that in whole creates a brand personality that one can recognize in just a few clicks. At Left Coast Marketing, we have expanded our creative services and are offering Web Design because we feel it is important for every business or company to build their web presence and back it up with great visual design.

Tony Immordino, our web guru, has worked with many of our current Clients and new Clients to rebuild their websites from either the ground up or improve upon what they originally had. Tony has the eye for design and the brains behind the tedious technology we call Web Design.

Some websites that we have worked on include: Oestermann Wines, RJV Wines, Guerrero Fernandez, Akrasia Cellars, Corley Family Monticello Vineyards, development for Mia's Kitchen, and Prime Solum!

We are also excited to announce that Healdsburg Taproom & 5 Bridges Winery websites will be launching soon.

"When looking at these projects as a collective whole, the thing that stands out the most to me is the wide breadth of design styles, platforms, and client types we have been working with.  Each website is unique in it's own right, and carefully tailored to each client's needs.  Some are large scale winery operations, others are small boutique wineries and family run businesses, and there is everything in-between.

Also rather than sticking to our "platform of choice" as an agency, we have been able to shift and work between various platforms depending on the clients needs and budget.  Covering websites in the world of Wordpress and Squarespace, and now branching out into the larger framework of Vin65 software.  This is great because each website is totally unique from the first kickoff meeting to launch day, nothing "cookie cutter" about it.  Each one tells a different story, and has a different goal." -Tony, Web Developer & Designer

A Little Family Called Benziger

A Little Family Called Benziger

The beautiful Benziger Family Winery was founded over 30 years ago when members of the family introduced a new light into the world of wine, making green farming mainstream. They value three things: family, wonderful wine, and a healthy vineyard. You cannot visit the winery without indulging in all those values. From their warming staff, to memorable wines and beautiful landscape, Benziger tops the charts when it comes to Sonoma Valley destinations.

Working with people who cherish the same things we do is a blessing, that is why we love having Benziger as one of our Clients. They make the job feel less like work and more like a fun and rewarding hobby. We have had the honor of working closely with their marketing and design departments on product and on location photography, wine club newsletters, and even their annual holiday catalog.

Designing newsletters has always been a secret favorite of ours because we get to step away from some of our normal projects and bring a little more creativeness to the Design. Whether that be experimenting with different colors, layouts, shapes and fonts; do not get me wrong we do that with other projects as well, but newsletters always bring a little extra fun and challenge to us. This spring we even got to dive into designing newsletters for the sister winery, Imagery. The Design for Imagery took a more modern approach which was refreshing. See the finished product below!

Not only did we design the newsletters for Imagery and Benziger this spring, we also got the chance to do the Photography for the annual Annual Holiday Catalog as well, which expanded on the newsletter design elements and provided something special for members to enjoy when they open their delicious box of wines

Of course you cannot have Design without Photography! We are lucky to have Benziger utilize us for Photography as well. We love visiting the winery itself and it is way more fun doing a photoshoot on location than in the studio. The last two years we shot on location for their holiday catalogs and even for a Food & Wine Magazine. Every chance we get we love going out to the winery because the people are great, the wines are spectacular and the landscape is breathtaking.
