Photography is Our Backbone

Every business starts with an underlining passion. A passion that motivates one to do what they love everyday and be happy. Left Coast started with that passion for Photography. It is our backbone and it is what has helped create our business as well as grow our business in the world of Design and Marketing

Over the years we have worked with a variety of Clients that have allowed us to learn, grow and succeed in the Photography side of our services. Through photo-styling Beauty Shots to getting the lighting just right on Product Shots, Photography is something that has challenged us to improve and become the most successful that we can be.

It is our baby and we look forward to continuing this passion of the many we have with you.

Product Photography: Wine Bottle Shots

Left Coast_Gundlach_PN_2009_web.jpg

One of our new year's resolutions is to become MUCH MORE active in our Blog. Also, the SEO company that we hired told us this will help more beer, wine, beverage and specialty food producers find us on the web and contact us for our services. So here goes! One Blog category that I have always been interested in doing is on the subject of Product Photography from both a photographer and marketer's perspective. We will dive deep into product packaging and what works and doesn't work from behind the camera. We will provide our humble opinion on label design, label materials, glass and other packaging materials. Ultimately we will discuss the impact the packaging design has on lighting scenarios, retouching in photoshop and how the product is presented on your website and even on the retail store shelf.

So to kick things off I am going to get back to my college hippie roots and have selected one particular Bottle Shot to feature: Gundlach Bundschu "Swami" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir". I am not going to dive very deep into this first post as the main reason I chose this bottle is simply...I really, really dig the label design...man. The colors really POP and the label design is far, far outside the box for any wine label. I have always known Gundlach Bundschu to be rather conservative, mainly because they are the oldest continuously owned and operated winery in the U.S. But I guess I was waaaay wrong dude. Kudos to the Label Designer for living outside the box! And as you will see from my future posts...the burgundian shaped bottle typically lends itself well to Bottle Shots Phototgraphy. I just love this shot.
